- American Ballet Theatre
- Consult the "Library" section for repertory archives
offering information on choreographers, composers, and individual
ballets (including premieres and plot synopses).
- American Ballet Theatre's Online Dictionary
- Includes definitions for 170 ballet terms, taken
from the Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet.
Requires the QuickTime plug-in to view the demonstrations.
- American Memory: Collections (Library of Congress)
- Click on "Performing Arts" to search the Library
of Congress's collections including "An American Ballroom Companion"
which offers the full text of over 200 social dance manuals
as well as "a significant number of antidance manuals, histories,
treatises on etiquette," QuickTime films of dances, and much
more.
- Artslynx International Dance Resources
- "Dance Links, Ballet Links, and other resources
organized into accessible link libraries."
- Dance Online: New Dance from Around the World
- "Dance Online offers award-winning content on
contemporary dance and includes dance criticism, dance news,
opinion pieces, feature articles, interviews, dance performances
in Real Video, photo exhibits, multimedia works, links and discussion
areas."
- The IHDP Dance Page (from The Institute of Historical Dance)
- Provides links to historical dance sites with
primary source material, including images and texts from the
Library of Congress American Memory Collection and much
more. Topics include Renaissance Dance, Baroque Dance, and more.
- Society of Dance History Scholars
- This site provides information on the Society
including their publications and conferences. A great feature
is their excellent Online
Resources section that points you to other useful sites
including dance organizations, dance publications, libraries
and research institutes, and more.
- Voice of Dance
- Offers current event information, news, and reviews
as well as opportunities to communicate with other dancers and
links to other useful dance resources.
