Food & Drink in Rolvaag Library

As the weather cools and we start to prepare for winter, the urge to bring a hot bevergage along for your study time at the library is probably growing at an inverse rate to the falling mercury. While we want you to enjoy yourself (and stay caffeinated for midterms!), please remember that the library is the home of more than studying students. We are the caretakers for valuable collections of books, journals, DVDs, videos, and more. Some foods attract visitors we don't want in the library (aka mice, insects), and spilled beverages ruin furnishings and carpet that we all have to share.

If you're bringing in coffee or other beverages, please use a spill proof mug. Fortunately, Rolvaag Library has a beautiful new plastic mug for sale at the circulation desk for the low, low price of $1. You can also find covered mugs at the bookstore.

 

Please eat smelly, messy foods (pizza, soup, french fries) at the Cage. And if you can't bear to eat the crusts on your sandwich, take the leftovers with you to dispose of in Buntrock, rather than leaving them in the library trash to attract unwanted attention.
