GIS Users Group

A campus-wide GIS Users Group and Brown Bag Lunch Series has been established this semester in response to faculty and staff interest in the teaching and research possibilities inherent in GIS. The group is composed of faculty, students, and staff interested in the use and support of GIS (Geographical Information System) for research and teaching at the College.

The next meeting of the Brown Bag Lunch series is on Friday, March 10th, noon-1pm in Buntrock 220. The meeting's focus will be on Google Earth, with specific consideration to how the desktop mapping application can be employed in the classroom environment.

For more information about the GIS Users Group, go to the GIS User Group site at http://www.stolaf.edu/academics/gis/index.html. You can also feel free to participate in GIS-related discussion on the group's Moodle page. Simply log in to Moodle (http://moodle.stolaf.edu/) with your standard St. Olaf username/password, and then select "All courses" from the "My Courses" box at the bottom of the left column. The GIS User Group is listed under “Miscellaneous” in the Course Category field.
