A "repository of hundreds of thousands of digital images and related data." Covers architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design from many cultures.

Archives of American Art
A bureau of Smithsonian Institution, the Archives of American Art provides researchers with access to the largest collection of documents on the history of the visual arts in the United States. The collection now totals more than thirteen million items.
The Art & Architecture Thesaurus Browser
Housed at Getty Information Institute, this controlled vocabulary thesaurus can be used to improve access to cultural heritage information in the global networked environment.
Art History Resources on the Web
A site maintained by Christopher Witcombe, Associate Professor of Art History, Sweet Briar College.
Art Images for College Teaching (AICT)
AICT began as a personal project dedicated to the principle of free exchange of image resources for and among members of the educational community, and developed into a website housed at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
Art on Film Online
This database from New York's Pratt Institute provides records of "moving image productions" about the fine and decorative arts.

National Endowment for the Arts
The homepage of the National Endowment for the Arts includes a Guide to the NEA, Community Contents, and an Arts Resource Center.
National Gallery of Art-The Collection
Provides an excellent tour of the National Gallery. Also gives an orientation to the history and purpose of the National Gallery, its hours and phone numbers, calendar of events and its resouces.
National Museum of American Art
Contains information about location, hours, current exhibits, education programs, membership, and highlights from the collection.

Prints and photographs online catalog
Provides access to the Prints and Photographs collection at the Library of Congress. Many of the photographs are available online.

Vatican museums
Information on visiting the Vatican, plus virtual exhibits and a catalog of publications

George Eastman House - International Museum of Photography and Film

This site, located at the Rochester Institute of Technology, provides users access to a comprehensive collection on the history of photography. It includes information on Eastman himself, the Museum's exhibits (including a timeline of photography), a film calendar, libraries and research, and links to related sites.
