Search Engines
Search engines allow you to search for Web
sites by entering in keywords. They all do this in different ways,
so please read the online Help section for the search
engine you are using. The following list includes a few search
engines that may be useful for your research. For news, tips,
and more information about search engines, visit Search
Engine Watch.
For best results, always use the search engine's Advanced Search
option! Also, please remember to evaluate
critically all Internet resources before using them in
your research!
- Alta
Vista

full text of Web pages (37+ million), including many archived

- Ask
Jeeves!
- Ask Jeeves is a human-powered

own database, then it will provide matching Web pages from various
search engines. See Ask Jeeves! Help
page for details.
- Google

currently on the Web. It is especially helpful in locating useful
sites as it ranks sites by the number of times other sites link
