Fall Regional Conference

Friday, September 25 & Saturday September 26, 2015

Our fall conference will be held this year at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. Conference events will be held in the Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre and nearby classrooms.

Please join us Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon for a weekend of theater sessions and activities at Concordia.

Events:


"Cover the Walls"-
Students, faculty, staff, and theatre professionals- SHOW US YOUR DESIGN WORK! This is an open invitation for designers to exhibit their work and share with fellow artists their ideas and approaches to design. Student display work will be entered into a juried competition with scholarship awards for free registration to the USITT National Conference in March 2016. (See Guidelines for Exhibiting). Setup begins at 6pm on Friday.

• "Technical Solutions Exhibit"
The Technical Solutions Exhibit is much like the USITT national Theatre Technology Exhibit (Tech Expo). Student display work will be entered into a juried competition with scholarship awards for free registration to the USITT National Conference in March 2016. (See Guidelines for Technical Solutions Exhibit for complete information). Setup begins at 6pm on Friday.

• Dinner and Social Hour
Friday evening beginning at 7pm. (Meal included in registration fee) 

• Opening Session following dinner- (8pm)
Friday Evening- Conference Kickoff:
The 2015 Prague Quadrennial for Performance Design and Space.  A number of NBS members were in attadance at PQ2015 and will share the highlights of this remarkable international event that happens every four years. Organizer: Alicia Wold.

• Social Event (9:45pm)

• Conference Sessions:
Saturday Morning 9-11am and afternoon 12:30-2:30pm in and around the Theatre on campus.
Select from sessions on lighting, costuming, design and performance in virtual reality, using aqua-color for make-up design, rigging techniques, new processes and technology in sound and a show and tell session led by attendees.

An All-Conference Session is scheduled at 3pm:  Health & Safety – best practices – a multidiscipline roundtable discussion.
New equipment/safety features, training practices, simple things we overlook, what works best in your venue, etc.

Final Wrap-up session
4:15 pm on Saturday. Design Awards will be announced.

• Individual Member of USITT NBS $20 
(Non-members- add $15 for membership)


• Student Member $5
(Non-Member students- add $5 for membership)
Students participating in the Design Exhibit will have the registration fee waived, but still must be a student member.
