Ole women rout Augsburg on the road, 66-47

The St. Olaf Women?s basketball team topped Augsburg College 66-47 on Wednesday February 12 in Minneapolis. After the halftime score of 33-33, the Ole defense only allowed Augsburg 14 points and the Oles lead by as much as 20 in the second half.

Sara Erickson (Sr, Cambridge Minn.) continues to be a threat for the Oles on the offensive end. She had 19 points and three steals in the contest. Molly Simon (So, Hudson, Wisc.) scored a season-high 16 points, shooting an impressive eight-for-11 from the field, while Liz Mundahl (Sr, Eagan, Minn.) added 13 points. Mayme Cupkie (Sr, Owatonna, Minn.), Natalie Rigelman (FY, Lake City Minn.), and Simon all had six rebounds for the Oles.

For the game the Oles shot 47.4 percent from the field in comparison to 31 percent for the Auggie's. St. Olaf?s zone defense in the second half helped them grab fourteen steals for the contest, as Augsburg shot only 17.9% percent in the half.

St. Olaf next faces Macalester College at home as their season winds down. The game is on Saturday, February 15 at 3:00 PM.
