Use dialog to resolve conflicts peacefully

Steinar Bryn, project director for " Democracy, Human Rights and Peaceful Conflict Resolution" in Lillehammer, Norway, will be on campus today to lead a workshop on "Dialog as a Tool for Conflict Resolution." The workshop runs from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in the Black & Gold Ballroom in Buntrock Commons, and is co-sponsored by the Norwegian Department and the Boldt Chair in the Humanities. Bryn has degrees from University of Oslo, University of Bergen, University of Wisconsin, Kristiansand Teacher's College and University of Minnesota (Ph.D. in American Studies). Since 1999, Bryn has conducted more than 60 dialogue seminars between Serbs and Albanians from Mitrovica, between Macedonians and Albanians from Macedonia, and between Croats and Muslims from Mostar. He also conducted seminars in Bethlehem and Jerusalem with Israelis, Arabs and Palestinians.
