Women's tennis tops St. Benedict

The St. Olaf women's tennis team defeated St. Benedict's 7-2 last Saturday, February 15 in St. Cloud, Minn.

The match was closely contested with three of the six matches going to superbreakers. Janelle Sagness (Sr., Mankato, Minn.) and Beth Erie (So., Rochester Minn.) defeated the number one doubles team for St. Benedict's by a score of 8-4. St. Olaf won 2-out-of- 3 doubles matches and 5-out-of-6 singles matches. With the win, the Oles improve to 2-0 overall.

The Oles will be back in action this weekend, playing two matches at the Owatonna Fitness Center. They will play a non-conference match against Nebraska-Wesleyan on Friday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, they host another match against Concordia-Moorhead at 10:30 a.m.
