In their last road game of the season, the St. Olaf Women's Basketball team lost to the University of St. Thomas 69-52 on Wednesday, February 19.

Kristy Larson (So, St. Ansgar, Minn.) and Molly Simon (So, Hudson, Wisc.) led the Oles with 12 points a piece. Jill Johnson (Jr, Butterfield, Minn.) added nine points, but ice cold shooting from the Oles as a team in the first half put them behind by 15 points at the break as they trailed 32-17. The Tommies only outscored the Oles by two points in the second half, but the Oles were never able to cut the lead to under 14 points.

Mayme Cupkie (Sr, Owatonna, Minn.), Larson, and Courtney Mueller (FY, Fort Collins, Colo.) each had four rebounds, but the Oles were out-rebounded 47-29 in the contest. Liz Mundahl (Sr, Eagan, Minn.) had five assists and Sara Erickson (Sr, Cambridge, Minn.) had four steals. The Oles struggled to score in the first half, shooting just 22.2 percent. They improved to shoot 46.9 percent in the second half, but the Tommies themselves shot 59.3 percent in the half and 50 percent for the game. St. Olaf next plays Hamline University at home in their final game of the season on Saturday, February 22 at 3:00 pm. At the game three St. Olaf seniors will be honored: Mayme Cupkie, Sara Erickson, and Liz Mundahl.
