Oles drop to Wesleyan, defeat Concordia

On February 21, Wesleyan jumped out to a 2-1 lead, winning at No. 2 and 3 doubles. Team Nagels remain undefeated at the No. 1 doubles spot. Despite the close double competition, the Oles failed to pull out a singles victory making the final score 1-8.

With the loss, the St. Olaf falls to 1-2 overall, while the Prairie Wolfs improve to 3-1.

Players in the match were Ted Nagel (Jr., Oglesby, Ill.), Tom Nagel (Jr., Oglesby, Ill), Matt Sobieski (Senior, Mahtomedi, Minn.), Dan Cohen (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.), Mike Matsuura (FY, St. Cloud, Minn.), Matt Clark (FY, Northfield, Minn.), Mike Donohue (Sr., Spirit Lake, Iowa), and Tom Wampler (Soph., Green Bay, Wisc.).

On February 22, the St. Olaf men's tennis team defeated Concordia, 5-4, Sat. afternoon in Owatonna.

The Ole's clinched an early lead, after going 2-1 in doubles competition. The two teams split singles matches. Mike Donohue, in his first match as an Ole, clinched the victory.

With the victory the Oles improve to 2-2 overall, and take on Luther College, next Friday in Rochester.
