Carly Knoell (FY, Lincoln, Neb.) and Anna Guenther (SR, Minneapolis, Minn.) made the most out of their trip to Atlanta, Georgia by placing in the top sixteen in their respective events at the Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships, on March 13th-15th. The duo scored a total of six and a half points which placed the Oles 48th.

In her second and final appearance at the national championships, Guenther placed 16th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.98, which earned her All-American honors. Guenther also competed in the 200-yard breaststroke in which she placed 33rd with a time of 2:29.59. In her previous appearance at nationals, as a sophomore, Guenther placed 15th in 200-yard breaststroke and 17th in the 100. Guenther was very satisfied with her performances and felt good about the experience as a whole.

In her first appearance at nationals, Knoell showed no signs of intimidation despite her first year status. Knoell faced the elite competition with confidence and determination, and placed an impressive 12th in the 200-yard backstroke with a personal best time of 2:07.09, which earned her All-American honors. Knoell also turned in a personal best time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.09 that placed her 21st. Knoell?s ability to drop time in both of her events was impressive.

Kenyon College captured the national championship for the 19th time in the last 20-years with 560.5 points. Conference rivals, Carleton College, placed an impressive sixth with 177 points and their senior Marie Marsman, was named Swimmer of the Meet after winning both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle.
