Baseball sunk in 11-inning thriller

The St. Olaf baseball team lost 2-1 to Trinity University (21-3) on a walk-off homerun in the 11th inning Thursday night in San Antonio, Texas.

The Oles (5-8) were led by a stellar eight-inning outing by junior pitcher Charlie Ruud (Cannon Falls, Minn.). Ruud allowed no earned runs, scattered four hits and struck out eight in the loss.

John Walker's homerun in the 11th inning gave the Tigers the win.

Mike Ludwig (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) was 4 for 5 for the Oles, who outhit Trinity 9-6.

St. Olaf will play Hamline University on Wed., April 2 at Midway Stadium in St. Paul.
