Author Heidi Neumark to give bookreading at St. Olaf as part of Meet the Authors! series

The Fall 2004 author series brings to campus, Heidi Neumark, the author of "Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx" for a bookreading on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m., in Buntrock Commons, Viking Theater. Neumark's book is available in the St. Olaf Bookstore and will be discounted 15 percent, the week of the event.

Neumark is the founder of Transfiguration Community Life Center, Inc., an organization the provides job-training and after-school programs for youth, HIV, domestic violence education and support, and other programs, was was also pastor of the Transfiguration Lutheran Church in the South Bronx for 20 years. Neumark kept a diary over the course of her ministry and this book is her story and reflections of an inner life in the inner city.
