As winter approaches and temperatures drop, many people from the community take advantage of the indoor and outdoor recreational offerings at St. Olaf.

Tostrud
Tostrud Center features an elevated walking and jogging ring, a six-lane 200-meter track, and tennis and basketball courts.
Tostrud Center features an elevated walking and jogging ring, a six-lane 200-meter track, and tennis and basketball courts. Additional tennis, racquetball and basketball courts are often available in the Skoglund gym and fieldhouse.

Area residents may purchase an individual recreation pass (valid through Aug. 1 each year) at the Athletic Office for $50 annually. The pass permits use of Tostrud and Skoglund fieldhouses, the indoor and elevated tracks, Skoglund gym and the racquetball courts. (Because the college does not want to compete with fitness-related businesses in town, the weight and fitness rooms are closed to the public, as are the climbing wall and pool.)

Enrollment forms are available at the main office in Skoglund Center Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Outside, the college has more than five miles of walking/running/cross-country skiing trails that wind through woods and past ponds on campus. Use of the trails is free and open to the public. (St. Olaf does not allow snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles on college property and asks that dogs remain leashed.)
