Marino reviews boxing book for The Boston Globe

When St. Olaf Professor of Philosophy Gordon Marino met former boxing champion Carmen Basilio several years ago, he wondered why no one had written a book about the man he describes as "one of the most enthralling fighters of the late '40s and early '50s."

As he notes in a book review published in The Boston Globe, he doesn't have to wonder any longer. A book profiling the pugilist "succeeds in pressing this very tough and yet noble man into the pages of our collective memory," Marino writes.
