With 19 St. Olaf alumni currently serving abroad in the U.S. Peace Corps, St. Olaf College has once again earned a "Top 25" ranking from the Peace Corps in the number of volunteers the college produces. This year St. Olaf ranks ninth among small colleges and universities (with enrollments under 5,000; St. Olaf enrolls 3,000), and is the 96th greatest producer of Peace Corps volunteers since that organization was created 47 years ago.

Since 1961, 446 St. Olaf alumni have served in the Peace Corps. "By constantly contributing graduates who have served so admirably as volunteers," says Peace Corps Director Ron Tschetter, "the Peace Corps' mission of global peace and friendship has been enriched and sustained for more than four decades."

The more than 8,000 Peace Corps volunteers currently serving in 74 countries represent 1,192 institutions of higher learning.
