Kiplinger's cites St. Olaf as a 'Best Value'

By Steve Blodgett
March 11, 2008

St. Olaf ranked 34th in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's 2008 list of "Best Values in Private Colleges." According to the April issue of the magazine, "our rankings for the best private colleges and universities spotlight schools with strong academics, attractive prices and generous financial aid."

In determining the top 50 universities and liberal arts colleges listed separately, Kiplinger's relied upon data on more than 1,000 private institutions provided by Peterson's. The editors claim that the rankings "measure academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total."
