His art could save forests

By David Gonnerman '90
April 4, 2008

"In the semester before his college graduation in 1992, St. Olaf art major Jim Proctor wasn't sure what role art would play in his adult life," notes a recent City Pages story about Jim Proctor '92. Then one day in his studio a piece of earth ended up on his canvas and Proctor experienced a "eureka moment."

(Note that last fall Proctor created an exhibit on the St. Olaf campus using pulled buckthorn.)
