A recent Northfield News story notes two St. Olaf students, Stephanie Tanner '10 and Jessica Steinbach '08, who are researching the saga of Ytterboe, the campus mascott whose shooting death in 1957 sparked a near riot.

The two women are interning with the Northfield Historical Society to create a documentary video about the story of the black dog that was informally adopted by the campus community. "The story of Ytterboe is an integral part of Northfield history, and it needs to be told," says Hayes Scriven, executive director of the NHS.

Tanner and Steinberg will present their work at St. Olaf Thursday, May 1, in Buntrock Commons, Viking Theater at 6:30 p.m.
