Norwegian Home Guard officers visit campus

As part of an annual exchange program between Norway's Home Guard and the Minnesota National Guard, a group of Norwegian Home Guard officers recently visited St. Olaf to learn more about Norwegian-American ties.

Part of the tour included a presentation by Associate Archivist Jeff Sauve and Professor of Norwegian Solveig Zempel. "It is nice to come here to see the [Norwegian] flag waving and also the good history lessons we learned from Jeff and Solveig this morning,” said Commodore Ketil Olsen of the Home Guard. "I think this is something that we should keep up and try to make a tradition."
