St. Olaf ensembles to perform for music conference

This Friday, Mar. 5, the St. Olaf Orchestra, led by Steven Amundson, will collaborate with guest conductor Craig Hella Johnson '84 and two semi-professional choirs from the Twin Cities to perform at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis for the American Choral Director Association's (ACDA) Spotlight Concert. Magnum Chorum, conducted by St. Olaf Assistant Professor of Music Christopher Aspaas '95, and The Singers, led by Matthew Culloton, will perform with the orchestra as the centerpiece concert of this week's Conference of the North Central ACDA. Friday's program will include two large works, Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen, and Ode to Common Things by Cary Ratcliff.

In addition, the St. Olaf Choir, conducted by Anton Armstrong '78, and Manitou Singers, conducted by Sigrid Johnson, will perform at the conference Thursday and Friday as solo choirs.

The performances are open to the public, and tickets are available from the Minnesota Orchestra.
