Associate Professor of Religion James Hanson has been named to the Thrivent Fellows Program, a 12-month executive fellowship committed to growing the leadership capacity of the agencies and institutions of the Lutheran Church. The program is sponsored in part by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the Lutheran Educational Conference of North America, and the Council of College and University Presidents of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

According to Thrivent, "Candidates were selected based on their dedication to the mission and distinctiveness of Lutheran colleges, seminaries, and universities, a strong record of service to these institutions, a clear potential for top-level leadership, and on their vocational call to lead these important institutions."
