Professor of Phiolosophy Charles Taliaferro has contributed a chapter, “The Real Secret of the Phoenix: Moral Regeneration through Death,” to the newly published The Ultimate Harry Potter and Philosophy: Hogwarts for Muggles that was recently reviewed by the Washington Post. Taliaferro’s biography in the book notes that “In most of his courses that are held in Holland Hall at St. Olaf (which resembles Hogwarts), Taliaferro includes a section on Defense Against the Dark Arts.”

Taliaferro also has recently contributed to three other books: Alice in Wonderland in Philosophy, the Ultimate Lost and Philosophy Book (about the popular TV show), and Cannabis — Philosophy for Everyone (subtitled What Were We Just Talking About?).

All four titles are available from the St. Olaf Bookstore.
