'A Prairie Home Companion' features St. Olaf singers

The Women's Vocal Ensemble of the St. Olaf Choir performed in a special live cinecast of Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion October 21.

A high-definition video feed of the performance was beamed from the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul to more than 500 movie theaters across North America. An encore presentation of the cinecast will be held Monday, October 25 at movie theaters across the country. Information about participating theaters and tickets is available online. Walk-up tickets are available at most theaters.

A live stream of the program was rebroadcast online October 23 and 24 and was also aired on public radio stations that carry A Prairie Home Companion.

The Women's Vocal Ensemble of the St. Olaf Choir is conducted by Anton Armstrong '78. The ensemble's 12 members are: Katie Burk '13, Maggie Burk '13, Rachel Dahlen '13, Anna Shevik '12, Stephanie Abbas '11, Iselin Donaldson '11, Elizabeth Rollins '11, Kate Swee '12, Amanda Balgaard '12, Cassie Bogh '12, Meg Granum '11, and Eliza Snortland '12.
