A 'grand' campus

When Washington Post reporter Jenna Johnson wrote in a recent story that some colleges are aiming their admissions pitches at parents, she got a response from John Dobbertin Jr. of Chaseburg, Wisconsin.

"Don't forget grandparents!" it read.

Dobbertin has a granddaugher in her first year at St. Olaf, and he and his wife have already attended several events on campus — including Homecoming and Family Weekend, where they received the pictured name tags.

Johnson wrote another story outlining how schools like St. Olaf, Vanderbilt, and Marymount are paying more attention to grandparents as well as parents.
