Workout video shows Starr power

A workout video posted by Adam Starr '12 has been featured by CBS, HuffPost, and ABC (including Good Morning America, at the 33-minute mark). The video shows Starr, who lost a leg to cancer in 2009, doing a workout Wednesday — back-flips included. 

Local NBC affiliate KARE 11's Karla Hult '95 filed this story. 

Starr posted the video to show friends and family that he's doing well. It was his first time in a gym since his bout with the cancer that today is in remission. "It felt great to do something I hadn't done in so long," he told GMA.

Starr, 21, started gymnastics at age 3 and switched to diving in high school, where he earned All-American honors. He had to take a break from St. Olaf during his first year, but has since gotten back on track to graduate with his class. The pre-med biology major is spending this summer on campus conducting molecular biology research.
