This summer Assistant Professor of Music Jun Qian (left), clarinet, and Associate Professor of Music Kent McWilliams (right), piano, performed together at East Normal University in Shanghai, China, to help celebrate the institution’s 60th anniversary. Later, Qian performed a solo recital, “French Reflection,” at Taipei National Recital Hall, followed by a performance of Associate Professor of Music Justin Merritt's compositions at the International College Music Society Conference in Seoul, South Korea (which Merritt also attended).

Qian and McWilliams also performed a new composition, written for Qian by Taiwanese composer Mei-Chun Chen, at the International Clarinet Conference in Los Angeles.
