Admiring the award-winning eats at St. Olaf

By Kari VanDerVeen

MinnPost education reporter Beth Hawkins examines how the cuisine at St. Olaf — which she notes includes dishes such as garbanzo-red pepper cakes with curry-tomato sauce, saffron basmati rice, and guaijillo turkey with citrus salsa — landed at the top of Newsweek magazine's "Best College Food" rankings.

Credit for the delectable dishes she mentions goes the college's food-service provider, Bon Appétit, which she notes prides itself on its "farm to fork" ethic and is committed to sustainable, locally grown food.
