St. Olaf receives award for sound financial practices

St. Olaf has earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, one of the nation's premiere independent charity evaluators.

Charity Navigator evaluates the financial health, accountability, and transparency of America's largest charities. Its rating system examines two broad areas of a charity's financial health: how responsibly it functions day-to-day and how well positioned it is to sustain its programs over time. This system is used to assess the financial health of more than 5,000 of the country's best-known charities, and works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace.

A rating of four stars from Charity Navigator indicates that St. Olaf College adheres to good governance and other practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities, and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.
