Kneser and Eaton-Neeb take on new responsibilities in Student Life Division

St. Olaf President David R. Anderson '74 has announced that the role of vice president and dean of students has been divided into two positions. Greg Kneser, currently vice president and dean of students, will become vice president for student life, while Rosalyn Eaton-Neeb '87 will be promoted from associate dean to dean of students.

Eaton-Neeb will take on responsibility for the day-to-day experiences of students, while Kneser will be responsible for continually finding ways to better respond to their changing needs and planning for the future.

"As we think strategically about the future of the whole college, it's important that we have the capacity to include student life in that work," wrote Anderson in a message to the campus community. "Separating these roles creates that capacity."

Kneser joined St. Olaf in 1989 as associate director of residence life. He was named dean of students in 2000, and "vice president" was added to his title in 2007. Eaton-Neeb came to St. Olaf as director of alumni and parent relations in 2003. Previously she served in student affairs positions at five different institutions. As associate dean of students she has worked closely with first-year and international students.
