Emerita faculty member Edlo Solum dies

Associate Professor Emerita of Physical Education Edlo Solum died September 27 in Northfield. She was 98.

Solum taught women's physical education at St. Olaf College from 1937 to 1976 and held administrative positions within the Athletics Department for 15 of those years. She returned to campus after her retirement to serve as the college's first Title IX coordinator, a position she held for four years. She was inducted into St. Olaf's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001.

Her funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield on Monday, October 1, at 2 p.m.
