A recording of an original choral composition by St. Olaf College alumnus Rene Clausen '74 won three Grammy Awards Sunday.

The recording of his work by the Kansas City Chorale, titled Life and Breath: Choral Works by René Clausen, took home the hardware in three categories at the 55th Grammy Awards: Best Engineered Classical Album, Best Choral Performance, and Classical Producer of the Year.

Clausen currently conducts the Concordia Choir, and he has been on the college's faculty for the past 27 years. The Kansas City Chorale recorded his composition in 2011 and released it last summer.
