St. Olaf is a 'Best Buy' school according to the Fiske Guide to Colleges
JULY 30, 2004 — The 2005 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges has recognized St. Olaf College as a 'Best Buy' college for the second year in a row. St. Olaf is one of only 43 colleges and universities in the nation selected by former New York Times education editor Edward Fiske.

Conference on Worship, Theology and the Arts to feature organ works of Paul Manz
JULY 19, 2004 — Nationally recognized artists, musicians, scholars and theologians will bring their expertise to campus for the annual Conference on Worship, Theology, and the Arts from July 19 to July 23. Highlights include an organ concert featuring the works of church organist Paul Manz as well as daily worship services with presiding Bishop of the ELCA, Mark Hanson.

Pat Cullen named men's assistant hockey coach
JULY 16, 2004 — St. Olaf College head menýs hockey coach Sean Goldsworthy announced that Pat Cullen has been named the new menýs assistant hockey coach. Cullen will coach the defensemen, penalty kill and faceoff units, as well as serving as recruiting coordinator for the USHL and NAHL junior hockey leagues.

Craig Stern named men's assistant football coach
JULY 16, 2004 — St. Olaf College head football coach Chris Meidt announced that Craig Stern has been named assistant football coach. Stern will coach the defensive backfield as well as serve as recruiting coordinator for the football coaching staff.

Girl Scout jamboree to bring hundreds of girls to campus
JULY 14, 2004 — St. Olaf College will host the 2004 Girl Scout Jamboree. More than 1,200 Girl Scouts, ages 13 and older, from all over the country and the world will be on campus through June 18.

Ole Players summer theater workshop to be offered at St. Olaf College
JULY 6, 2004 — The St. Olaf Theater Department will play host to a workshop open to boys and girls ages 10 through 14. It is designed to motivate young actors to think creatively and build self-confidence. Students will be involved in daily activities, set and costume design and construction, as well as rehearsals for a final performance. The workshop meets for two hours each day, Monday through Thursday for three weeks with a final performance on the evening of Thursday, July 22. Enrollment is limited.
