MARCH 9, 2009 — Peter Bergen, a print and television journalist who produced Osama bin Laden's first televised interview, will speak on campus Wednesday, March 11. A national security analyst for CNN, Bergen is also the author of the best-selling book The Osama bin Laden I Know: An Oral History of al Qaeda's Leader.

St. Olaf, Carleton music faculty to perform at MacPhail Center
MARCH 6, 2009 — St. Olaf music faculty members David Hagedorn and Jun Qian will perform with Carleton music faculty members Gao Hong and Nicola Melville at the MacPhail Center for Music Saturday, March 7. The concert will feature the world premiere performance of a composition by St. Olaf music faculty member Justin Merritt.

'Court dismisses SaveWCAL petition, rules in favor of St. Olaf and MPR'
MARCH 3, 2009 — KYMN 1080 AM reports that a petition in Rice County to "redress a breach of charitable trust" by St. Olaf College concerning its sale of radio station WCAL to Minnesota Public Radio four years earlier and arguing for the voiding of the sale was dismissed by Judge of District Court Bernard Borene.
