Position in American Politics

The Department of Political Science at St. Olaf College invites applications for a three-year position in American Politics, beginning in Fall 2008. Ph.D. preferred, but ABDs nearing completion will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a potential for excellence in both teaching and research, and be prepared to teach a variety of introductory and advanced courses in American government and politics. Courses may include Introduction to American Politics; Media and Politics; Congress and the Presidency; U.S. Foreign Policy; Constitutional Law; Gender, Race, and Politics in the U.S.; or Public Opinion. The ability to teach in other subfields of political science may enhance an applicant's candidacy. A full-time teaching load is six courses per academic year. Consideration of applications will begin on February 15, 2008 and will continue until the position is filled.
