Psychology
The Department of Psychology at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, announces a full-time tenure-track position in social psychology at the level of assistant (or associate) professor, beginning September 1, 2010. Applicants with an ability to add intellectual diversity and cultural richness to the department are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include courses in social psychology, research methods, and introductory psychology, and an advanced course in a self-selected area of specialization. A completed Ph.D. in psychology by the time of appointment is required. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education, and have experience or potential for conducting an active program of research with undergraduates.

(3) a statement describing interest and goals in liberal arts teaching (Attach as Required Other Document 1),
(4) a research plan, including anticipated undergraduate involvement (Attach as Required Other Document 2).
(5) unofficial copies of undergraduate and graduate school transcripts (Attach as Optional Other Documents – you may attach up to 4 transcripts). Applicants who submit unofficial transcripts may be asked to submit official transcripts at a later date.

The St. Olaf Psychology Department is a collegial community including nine permanent faculty whose areas span the breadth of psychology including behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, developmental, personality, clinical, and social psychology. We highly value both teaching and undergraduate research and have an endowment fund to support research with students. As one of the largest majors on campus, we graduate approximately 60 majors each year.
