College-wide assessment by source of evidence
HEDS Alumni Survey
The Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium Alumni Survey elicits information from graduates of private colleges and universities around the country about their curricular and co-curricular learning during college, and their educational, employment, civic, and personal activities after college. HEDS Alumni Survey results have been used at St. Olaf to support strategic planning, document the value of General Education, and inform efforts to assist students in vocational discernment and preparation for life after college.
HEDS Alumni Survey questionnaire
The HEDS Alumni Survey was developed by an inter-institutional group of liberal arts institutional researchers and assessment specialists. The questionnaire addresses the learning experiences and outcomes associated with liberal education, with particular attention to the essential learning outcomes identified by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U).
National HEDS Alumni Survey website
The Alumni Survey is administered by the Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) Consortium, a professional association serving the needs of private higher education for institutional research, decision support, assessment, and the advancement of liberal learning.
Results and reports
Institutions participating in the HEDS Alumni Survey receive their own results and comparative results from other institutions. Findings provide data on the accomplishments of graduates and the long-term impact of college learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom.
