Alumni in Graduate School

 

Traditionally, St. Olaf graduates go on to advanced studies in large numbers, either directly from St. Olaf or within five years. Information from the alumni survey of the class of 1990 revealed that 63% of respondents either have finished an advanced degree or are currently working on one. Of this group:
  • 7.5% are pursuing or have earned an M.B.A.
  • 3% have earned or are pursuing a law degree. They come from the disciplines of psychology, political science, mathematics, English, and art.
  • 3% are pursing a medical degree.
  • 14.5% are pursuing or have earned degrees in the education field.
  • Of the economics majors, 73% have gone to graduate school in fields relatd to business or management.
  • Of the mathematics majors, one-third have pursued or are currently pursuing further study in mathematics.
  • Of the psychology majors, half continued their study in the psychology field.
  • Of the biology majors, 85% are or were in biology, medicine, or health-related fields.
