St. Olaf Faculty FTE Distribution

St. Olaf faculty often teach courses in several departments as well as administer various interdisciplinary programs. To keep track of this complex set of assignments, faculty FTE is recorded on a spreadsheet that reflects courses taught in each deparment or program as well as the home department of faculty who teach those courses. The spreadsheet also records faculty assignments in directing student activities (e.g., music ensembles, athletic teams), in administering college programs, and for sabbatical and other professional leaves. FTE Spreadsheet Definitions gives an explanation of the spreadsheets beginning with the 2003-04 acadmic year.

While the layout of columns changed in 2003-04, the definitions of the categories has not changed since 2001. Since this spreadsheet has been in use with only minor modifications since 2001, it provides a consistent means of recording faculty activity in a manner that permits comparison from year to year. We have posted here a summaries in five-year increments, beginning with 2001-02:
