Registrar’s Office Drop/Add Policy

During the academic year, drop/adds are processed at the Registrar’s Office during window hours:

            Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

            CLOSED daily during Chapel and Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. for staff meetings

            Summer hours:  Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and Fridays 8:30 a.m. – noon

 

An Independent Study/Research, Internship, or Audit may not be added without the completed paperwork and drop/add slip.

 

ACADEMIC YEAR 2008-09

 

            ADDING an OPEN course:

·         Through Friday, August 22nd – NOON - no instructor signature is required to add a course

o        Adds are processed at the Registrar’s window year round during window hours (see above)

o        Drop/adds are NOT accepted via e-mail if a currently registered student is on campus

o        E-mail requests for adds are available:

§         May 22nd– August 22nd at noon for Semester I, 2008-09

§         December 18th – January 2nd, 2009 at noon for Interim, 2008-09

§         February 2nd – February 9th at noon for Spring, 2008-09

·         E-mail registrar@stolaf.edu

·         E-mail request MUST use St. Olaf e-mail address

·         E-mail request cannot cause a time conflict or overload

·         E-mail requests to add CLOSED courses are not valid

 

 

ADDING a CLOSED course:

·         Instructor signature is required to add a closed course

 

DROPPING a course

·         Through Friday, August 22nd – NOON - no instructor signature is required to drop a course.

o        Drops are processed at the Registrar’s window year round during window hours (see above)

o        Drop/adds are NOT accepted via e-mail if a currently registered student is on campus

o        E-mail requests for drops are available:

§         May 22nd– August 22nd at noon for Semester I, 2008-09

§         December 18th – January 2nd, 2009 at noon for Interim, 2008-09

§         February 2nd – February 9th at noon for Spring, 2008-09

·         E-mail request to drop should not put student at part-time status

·         E-mail requests are NOT valid during the academic year  (except for the dates noted above)

 

 

Off-Campus Programs

Students who are currently enrolled in off-campus programs may add OPEN courses and DROP courses via e-mail after registration and before the first day of class while the student is on a St. Olaf - approved off-campus program.
