General Information

THE "ST. OLAF SUMMER"
St. Olaf Summer provides students of all ages with unique and unusually attractive opportunities for study and recreation. The faculty and facilities of St. Olaf College are available in a generally relaxed atmosphere, located in an area that is especially appealing during the summer months. Summer School courses are offered at a reduced tuition rate compared with the regular academic year.

St. Olaf Summer is a time for fun and relaxation as well as work and study. The College sponsors a wide variety of activities, including lectures, concerts, art exhibitions, films and the like. A variety of summer opportunities are available in Northfield and at Carleton College, also located in Northfield.

A Summer School schedule is planned with particular regard for courses that can be taught successfully in a short term and in a summer environment. Approximately 50 Summer School courses are offered for credit, and a wide variety of special programs are available to groups of varying size, age, and interest. Thus, the typical summer population at St. Olaf ranges from the undergraduate and non-traditional adult student in a regular Summer School course to the pastor participating in a theological conference. The result is a wide variety of academic offerings and programs that expand the traditional curriculum of the college year.
