Purpose of Procedures:
To allow for student work credit that is expected to be earned for the semester, while ensuring that the student account is paid in a timely manner and balances are not carried over from one semester to another.
Who needs to know these Procedures:
All St. Olaf College students.
Procedures:
Students who have signed the Student Employment Payment Method Form and have their student work applied to their tuition account, may estimate out that semester’s student work balance from the amount due on their bill. Any balance remaining from fall semester must be paid before spring semester begins.
For example:
Work award for the year = $2,000 (semester amount $1,000)
Amount due on bill = $4,000 (for semester)
Amount needed to make sure account is in good standing = $3,000 (amount due less remaining unearned work award for that semester)
Students who have not worked their entire work award for fall semester must pay the remaining balance with spring semester bill. If the student works more in the spring semester and earns more than their work award, they will have that amount paid to their account and may request a refund check when the balance on their account is paid in full.
Paychecks issued in October, November, December, and January will be applied to semester I. Paychecks issued in February, March, April, May, and June will be applied to semester II.
