St. Olaf Payment Options
2012-13 academic year
The comprehensive fee for 2012-2013 is $48,650. This includes $39,560 tuition, $4,260 room, and $4,830 board. Families may choose from a variety of payment options to pay the amount due.
Option 1- Single Payment Plan
A single payment of $47,650 by August 24, 2012, in addition to the two $300 prepayments, will yield a $400 discount from the $48,650 comprehensive fee. The discount is not available to students receiving need-based financial aid. The discount is pro-rated for merit scholarship recipients and for students who receive non-need-based loans.
If you wish to pay in a single payment, please notify us by July 1, 2012 by emailing tuition@stolaf.edu with the subject heading “Single Payment”. Within your email please include the applicable student name and number. By the end of July, you will receive a confirmation letter that details the exact amount due for the year, including any aid and discount.
Option 2- Two Semester Payment Plan
You will be e-billed in late July for the fall semester, and in late December for the spring semester. The fall semester payment is due August 24, 2012. The spring semester payment is due January 18, 2013. If payments are late, a finance charge of 0.5% per month will be assessed on the unpaid balance.
You can now Pay Online using ACH or Credit Card (MasterCard, American Express, or Discover).
Option 3- Monthly or Quarterly Payment Plan
Should you wish to pay monthly or quarterly, you will need to set up an account with Tuition Management Systems (TMS). TMS’ plans allow you to pay your balance due in either ten or four equal payments. The annual enrollment fee payable to TMS is $65 for the year or $47 for one semester. TMS payment plans for the 2012-13 academic years commence on July 15, 2012 and for no additional fee, can be set to automatically deduct from a checking account. However, should you wish to pay via credit card, TMS will accept MasterCard, Discover, or American Express. Please be aware that TMS will charge you a convenience fee of approximately 2.99% of the transaction if you choose to pay via credit card. For those who join the monthly plan after July, catch-up payments will be required. The Student Accounts Office cannot make any payment plans or payment arrangements for outstanding balances. If a monthly payment plan will be best for you, please enroll with Tuition Management Systems.
