Purpose of Procedures

St. Olaf College strives to minimize the fees that are charged to students in excess of normal tuition charges.  Required fees or supplies for a course should not be charged to the students, because they are considered part of the tuition.  Optional fees or supplies should not be charged to a student’s account, because they are not a standard institutional charge of the college. 

Who needs to know these Procedures

All St. Olaf faculty and staff who previously charged items to a student’s tuition account.

Procedures

Departments are not allowed to charge on a students account.
