We believe that choosing to use renewable energy, such as wind power, is an ethical issue. Choosing to act on our values we offered to help St. Olaf in its search for renewable energy sources. St. Olaf would like to produce renewable energy for the school by construcing is own wind turbine. Before a turbine can be constructed, however, the wind must be monitored for at least 6 months in the potential location. So, on May 15, 2004, four ethics students headed to the fields behind St. Olaf to help put up a monitoring tower. In the following pages you will find our reasons for participating in this project, the details of construction, and the information about status of wind energy at St. Olaf.
