The GSC hosts discussions, educational sessions, student organization meetings, and more. If you would like to schedule events at the GSC, or are interested in GSC co-sponsorship for events, let us know at least a week in advance by contacting calvert@stolaf.edu.

 

2008-2009 schedule

  • Open House: Thurs, Sept 25th. We had great turnout, and made the event was covered by the Manitou Messenger. Check out the article here.
  • Tues, Oct 21st: Kelly Lewis from OutFront MN, Minnesota's largest GLBT advocacy organization, came and talked to us about OutFront and the election.
  • Monday, Nov 24th at 6:30 in the GSC: Maren Jansen, transgender woman and St. Olaf alum is coming to share her story and talk about issues for transgender people. Check out her website here.
  • Mon, Dec 1st: World AIDS Day. We're co-sponsoring the hallway display with IDEA (International Development Education and Action). Interested in helping out? E-mail fieldsj@stolaf.edu
  • Tues, Dec 2nd, Buntrock 143 at 6:30: Wellness Center event! "STD Ickies," Come learn about the gifts you don't want to receive for the holidays, and how to prevent them.
  • Tues, Dec 2nd, Buntrock 142 at 6:30: Wellness Center event! "I am Kegel, hear me ROAR!" The often forgotten pelvicd floor muscles are some of the most important "womanly" muscles we've got, say some gynecologists! Kegel exercises strengthen your core, stability, and pleasure!
  • Wed, Dec 3rd : World AIDS Day speaker Peter Maybarduk discusses the pharmaceutical monopoly on AIDS medications at 4pm in Viking Theater. (IDEA)
  • Wed, Dec 3rd: Spanksgiving! Alphabet House hosts our own Sara Antonson for a workshop on BDSM (Bondage-Discipline, Domination-Submission, Sadism-Masochism). Exciting and educational! 9pm at Alphabet House (Forest Inn)
  • Fri, Dec 5th: World AIDS Day speaker Keith Hanson in Viking at 4 PM from the Act Africa campaign for the World Bank (IDEA).
