Harambee

"Harambee" is a swahili word that means "working together in unity." Harambee is the umbrella group for the multicultural student organizations at St. Olaf. It is meant to unite students from varied backgrounds and cultures to recognize political, cultural, and social issues on campus. Open to all members of the St. Olaf community, Harambee not only supports students, but also encourages them to recognize, celebrate, and share the different cultures which come together throught this organization. Harambee hears concerns of the multicultural groups on campus and conveys these concerns to the student senate. Harambee's goal is to promote multicultural awareness, activities, and relations at St. Olaf, creating an interest that will last a lifetime.
