Presente

Category: Multicultural

Presente is the multicultural organization that strives to promote the understanding and education of the Latino and Spanish culture at St. Olaf and Northfield Community through social interaction and discussion of related subjects such as history, politics, art, music, etc. We welcome everyone from the St. Olaf and Northfield community, regardless of race or ethnic background, to come to our meetings and events to learn more on Latin American cultures/societies. Throughout the school year, Presente celebrates Latino Heritage Month in September and Viva La Raza in April and host a wide variety of events. These events include professional Latino dancers, musicians, and artists; authentic Latino cuisine; discussion of current events or issues pertaining to Latinos and Hispanics around the world; collaborating with La Casa Hispánica and other students organizations; and much more. Presente meets on Thursdays at 6pm in the MCA Office. All students with an interest in Latin American and Spanish culture are welcome to come! If you have any questions, feel free to email Jenny Ortiz at ortizj@stolaf.edu or Stephanie Espitia at espitia@stolaf.edu.
