Head Start

Category: Volunteer Network Programs

Head Start is a federally-funded preschool program for children with a low-income and/or diverse background. The Northfield chapter has two classrooms with children three to five, and they run classes Monday-Thursday from 8:30am to 3:30pm. St. Olaf students volunteer one or two hours a week whenever it fits into their schedule. Much of Head Start's funding is based on the number of volunteer hours, so they heavily depend on volunteer efforts! Contact us to learn more :)

Meetings: Specific volunteer times vary depending on individual schedules, but we ask volunteers to commit to around one hour weekly.
